Last edit at 11:21 AM by rsvmgb1974.The 2021 Subaru Outback wagon/SUV is recalled for an electronic brake booster (EBB) that may be incorrectly set up. Why do they show a + lead coming from the fuse box to #86? I guess your note to just use a purple wire will surfice?Įdited 1 time(s). They couldn't have made the schematic much smaller to these old eyes, so I photographed it an blew it up. Going to connect the horn this afternoon using the relay per Jeff's advise. Everything works except the headlights and parking lights which were bonkers when I bought the car. Turned the ignition to the II position and was rewarded with the ticking of the fuel pump. I just wanted to see if this thing had power after having disconnected almost everything electrical over the past four months. Well, I bypassed the horn and went right to connecting up the steering column plugs, solenoid, coil, and the alternator this morning. I have a sketch of this and will try and attach it later. This way, your horn button will operate the relay, which will connect the +12V to your horn. Then, connect the terminal of the horns to terminal 30 on that relay, and connect the purple wire to terminal 87. This now turns the relay into a switch that will operate when the horn button is pressed. It can be a challenge to isolate a part that is normally grounded through its mounting points, so here's what you can do to mount horns that only have one terminal that wants "switched +12V" to operate, and is grounded through its body:Ĭonnect the Purple/Black wire, which is the switched ground from the steering wheel horn button, to terminal 85 on a relay, and connect terminal 86 to a +12V power source (say, the purple wire).
